At Off Highway Van, innovation is in our DNA. For 2026, we didn't stop at trim-level updates and refinements. This year, we've developed our all-new Series A Roof rack, designed in-house by our team of engineers. With this update, the Series A Rack tips the scales at over 15% lighter than the previous iteration; with our focus on reducing weight while maintaining durability, this is a major win right out of the gate.
The Series A Roof Rack: All-New for 2026
Not only is this rack significantly lighter than it's previous edition, it's also (in our opinion) an enormous aesthetic upgrade to the existing rack.

Taking the rounded off model of the previous rack, our engineers turned this design on its head and sharpened the lines, adding geometric spaces where there used to be curves, and generally made it a more angular product. This aesthetic upgrades gives the rack a much more aggressive, offroad-focused look that we, personally, love.
Not only did the overall design of the rack make some major changes for 2026, these changes also provide some integrated quality-of-life upgrades that we'll discuss below.
New Lighting Options for the 2026 Series A Roof Rack
50" Curved Lightbar from STRANDS Lighting Division
The first thing you will notice about the new Series A Roof Rack is the all-new lighting options for 2026: starting out with the STRANDS Lighting Division 50" curved lightbar.

Our Pro-X specced models will now come standard with this high-output, low-energy-draw, lightbar. With significant brightness and clarity improvement over our 2025 lightbars. This new option increases forward illumination for safer nighttime driving offroad.
Rear-Facing Flood Lights
The next highlight to the all new Series A rack, is our improved rear-facing flood lights.

These are extremely helpful when parking at night, accessing your gear in the dark, and can even be great for illuminating your campsite once you've parked. No more carrying around a flashlight or relying on your phone light to find what you need!
Aluminum Decking For the Series A Roof Rack
When you get a bird's eye view of this rack, that's when you'll start to notice the changes beyond aesthetics and lighting.

For the newest iteration of the Series A Roof Rack, we've built in improved durability and functionality with our aluminum decking system. This decking makes the rack much more durable, and also allows you to walk on it, sit on it, and strap gear to it, without worry.
Not only does this decking make your roof rack more usable and durable, it also comes standard with Molle panel functionality. This Molle panel integration allows innumerable ways to secure all of your gear so even that large or oddly shaped gear can make the journey with you.
A Functional and Experiential Improvement
With the new Series A Roof Rack, the roof of your van becomes more than an area to hold your solar panels and other accessories like Starlink. Now, you can climb up to enjoy a drink at sunset while looking at the view without having to worry about hurting any of the components on your van's roof.

We've also aded larger ports in the siderails to make both strapping gear to your roof and accessing your rack from the side ladder easier and safer.
Roof Top Tent Integration
This new rack design also allows for significantly simpler roof top tent integration due to your tent being placed on high-strength aluminum decking.
No more adjusting sleeping areas or finding the right place to sleep, just pop it up and forget it.
Upgrades for the 2026 Series A Off-Grid Roof Rack
Now that we've talked about what's coming standard with the all new 2026 Series A Roof Rack, let's jump into some of the upgrades and features you can get with this all new design.
Global Lighting Package
As we saw earlier in the video, there are some interesting new lighting options that we should get into that really change the look and performance of this rack.

With the all-new global lighting package (part of the 2026 R Package), you will see (7) Baja Designs LP6s in place of the curved 50" lightbar from STRANDS Lighting Division.

This Baja Designs lightbar has 2 modes: orange running lights, and a high-beam mode which offers bright daylight, balanced lights that have incredible forward illumination. With these high-beams on, you'll be able to see hundreds of feet (no that's not a typo) ahead of you on the trail and anticipate any animals, hikers, potholes, or obstacles you need to avoid no matter what time of night it is.
When the high-beams are on, we can confidently say it's one of the brightest, higest-clarity lightbars we've ever seen and have ever installed on a camper van. Is it the brightest lightbar on the market? As far as we know.
Integrated 360 Degree Lighting
On top of the upgraded lightbar, when you option the Global Lighting package, there are integrated lights hidden throughout the rails of the roof rack which provide 360 degree illumination at night.

Lighter, Stronger, More Functional
When we innovate, it's with purpose. With this rack it was no different. We saw a gap, a need that needed to be filled after countless conversations with owners and overlanders of all kinds, and took it upon ourselves to provide an improved solution.

The all-new Series A Roof Rack is lighter, stronger, and has a ton of new functionality and quality of life improvements over its past iterations.
